The secret to looking beautiful on your wedding day

Healthy, glowing skin is a key component of beauty and, naturally, is a high priority for brides. In the midst of frantic wedding preparations however, achieving a beautiful skin is one aspect that is often overlooked!

We spend a small fortune on dresses, hair, make-up (and even the wedding cake!) to make sure that our big day 'looks perfect'. However, it is the simple things, such as the condition of our skin, that actually make the most difference to how we look. After all, no amount of make-up, designer hair-cut or expensive wedding dress can compensate for tired looking skin.

Responding to the strong and growing demand among our clients for advice on pre-wedding skincare, our aesthetician doctors have devoted time and effort into creating a new programme, designed especially for brides.

Exclusively offered by the DSLCC for brides to be, our new Bridal Range of skincare packages has been specifically tailored with the new bride in mind.

In doing so, we believe we have designed the ideal skincare regimen so that your skin is radiant with beauty on your special day. It also means that there is now one less thing to worry about as you plan all the other essentials for the wedding.

The Complete Bridal Skincare Programme:

Step One:
Six months before your Wedding Day

Begin your skin rejuvenation programme ideally six months before your big day. One of our aesthetic doctors will assess your precise skincare needs at the time of consultation. We start with monthly pulse light treatments to improve the colour, texture and any blemishes (if there are any) such as sun damage, spots or thread veins. This treatment will give you a fresher and smoother look. Another added advantage is the reduction in pore size that this treatment achieves.

Friends and family are bound to notice the difference as your appearance steadily improves and your skin begins to shine. You can smile to yourself as you step out of the car and into the venue on your big day, with all eyes on you: show off your beautiful skin in front of the world as you exchange vows…and wow that lucky groom!

Step Two:
Three months before your Wedding Day

Once we have improved your skin on the superficial level with pulse light, the next step is to work a little deeper. At this stage, you will be treated with medical micordermabrasion (a celebrity secret, in fact) and high strength Retinyl to achieve deeper exfoliation of the skin.

This has the effect of newer collagen formation in the skin, giving a youthful appearance. You will also be given the home care programme to further speed up exfoliation and to nourish the new collagen cells. In combination, this regime brings out your natural beauty and significantly enhances your skin's appearance – making for the perfect look on the perfect day.

Step Three:
Two months before your Wedding Day

By now, with the previous two steps, your skin is already looking radiant and it is essential that we maintain it at this level. To do this, you will continue with medical microdermabrasion, which will be followed by Bio-Oxygen treatment. Bio-Oxygen treatment is provided to improve the skin's circulation, encouraging blood flow.

Good circulation is an essential requirement for any healthy tissue, and the skin is no exception. It is our blood that supplies the skin with all the necessary nutrients and oxygen, while simultaneously removing waste products from the skin cells. By improving the circulation, the Bio-Oxygen treatment is making your skin more healthy and in turn, more beautiful.

This regimen should be repeated every two weeks leading up to your special day.Thereafter (after the honeymoon!), the above combination treatment should be repeated at least every month as a minimum to keep your skin in good health.

The Lotus: The definitive package, starting six months before the wedding date. Includes Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3.

The Red Rose: A comprehensive package, starting three months before the wedding date to optimise your skin. Includes Steps 2 and 3.

The Tulip: For those with a limited timetable and a fast approaching wedding! Starts 2 months before the wedding date. Includes Step 3.

The above three programmes can be further tailored to suit your individual needs when you come for consultation and the aesthetic doctor will consider your overall skincare needs and personal preference before recommending a particular programme.
