Macrolane is a long lasting version of a natural substance your body uses to fill out skin. It is the same chemical- Hyaluronic acid, which has been used very successfully, the world over, for over 10 years, for facial rejuvenation. The particle concentration and consistency of Macrolane is such that it can be very effectively used to enlarge breast, reshape buttocks and contour the body.

 It is a simple injection treatment. No surgery is needed; the recovery time is minimal, with minimal disruption to your work schedule.

Less invasive than surgery, Macrolane treatment restores volume simply and safely. Treatment is an out patient procedure that can be performed in one visit without a hospital stay. During the treatment the gel is injected with a special needle. Deep under the skin to add volume and support, leaving on unsightly scars. The effects last at least a year, after which a top up treatment can be performed.

For breast shaping, a detailed breast evaluation and sometimes a mammogram may be required before treatment. The procedure is not performed on pregnant or breast-feeding women. Medication containing Aspirin need to be stopped for 2 weeks before the procedure to reduce bruising. A support or a sports bra must be worn for 2 weeks. Recommended support level is 3 or 4 support. These bras are available at any major departmental store.

You can shower normally upon returning home. It is strongly advised that you do not take part in vigorous exercise for 2 weeks.

The results are expected to last for 12-18 months, with some variation. A top up treatment is normally required at 9-12 months to maintain the desired shape. Increase in size is approximately ½ to 1½-cup size.

Antibiotics will be prescribed for you before the procedure.
