Resurfacing CO2 laser

Acupulse C02 Gold Standard

We are very pleased to inform you that we have installed a new laser device, the fractional Co2 laser, widely considered to be the gold standard in the skin resurfacing technologies. The clinic can now offer you both the non-ablative, ‘milder’ treatment as well as the ablative, ‘deeper’ version of skin laser resurfacing.

The new equipment is called the Acuscan 120, made by the reputed Lumenis company and thanks to a sophisticated computer, accurate, more robust yet finely titrable forms of laser skin surfacing. Depending on your lifestyle, work and social commitments, the treatment can be given as a single session with more extended recovery periods or split into several sessions with multiple but very short downtimes, without affecting the final results. After attending various conferences in the US after studying the results presented by top surgeons, we chose this laser.

We are pleased to give some more information on this technology in the succeeding paragraphs.

ACUSCAN 120 Fractional Wrinkle Reduction:

The visible signs of ageing are caused by changes deep in the layers of the skin. To improve skin tone and remove imperfections, Acuscan 120 Fractional Wrinkle Reduction treats deep into your skin to create new collagen to improve your skin tone. The result is a dramatic improvement in wrinkles, fine lines, skin tone, texture and skin tightening – in one treatment.

Is AcuScan 120 Fractional Wrinkle Reduction right for you?

AcuScan 120 may be the ideal option if you:

  • Want to improve fine lines, wrinkles, skin tone and texture
  • Want to achieve dramatic results in only one treatment
  • Want a procedure that has a minimum downtime
  • Want to minimise enlarged pores and skin laxity
  • Want to improve acne scarring, and treat benign pigmented skin growths
  • Want to get rid of pigmented lesions and sun damage
  • What is AcuScan 120 Fractional Wrinkle Reduction?

AcuScan 120 is a fractional CO2 laser that targets wrinkles, fine lines, and skin tone and texture with minimal downtime. Fractional treatments treat only a fraction of the skin, leaving bridges of untouched skin that aid in the healing process and reduce healing times, enabling you to return to normal activities quicker.

How does it work?

AcuScan 120 Fractional Wrinkle Reduction utilises a very narrow laser micro-beam, about the width of a human hair, to remove columns of tissue deep into the skin layers. This initiates the body’s natural wound healing response which heals the surrounding zone of affected skin by creating new elastic collagen. The new collagen foundation works to improve skin tone and pull wrinkles out and plump from within. The result is an improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, skin tone, texture and laxity – in one treatment, and with minimal downtime.

Where on the body can AcuScan 120 be used?

AcuScan 120 is commonly used on the face, around the lips, for crows feet, the neck, upper chest, hands and arms.

What is AcuScan 120 Fractional Wrinkle Reduction treatment like?

AcuScan 120 is typically performed in a physician’s office. First, your physician will numb your skin with a topical anaesthetic to aid in treatment comfort. During the procedure, you will feel a warm sensation as the laser is applied. Your total treatment time will last approximately 30 minutes, though whole time will vary depending on the area to be treated. Immediately following treatment, your skin will be warm and maybe slightly red. Your physician will provide you with a skincare regimen to follow for the days following your treatment, and as your skin heals, you will begin to notice an improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, tone and texture. You should be able to begin normal activities within a day or two, depending on the treatment received. You should expect to continue to see improvement for up to six months following the procedure.
